The FIRST Lego League is an international robot building and programming competition for students ages 9 to 14.
In 2013, I produced and hosted the televised portion of the BC championships, which took place in BCIT’s Burnaby campus Gymnasium.
To prepare for this event, I attended meetings, coordinated volunteers and equipment, wrote a production manual, and planned the layout of the gymnasium. I also corresponded with coaches, event organizers, and participants, who I later interviewed during the event, which was streamed live over the internet for the benefit of those who could not be there in person.
Though I don’t plan on becoming a producer or host, I volunteered to take on these roles because I am passionate about the production of high quality educational media.
The entire event may be watched from this playlist, which I have edited down to the highlight clips.
